La Pulpería

If you're looking for an extra fine yet intimate and non pretentious dinner experience, La Pulperia is the place for you! The food is local Galician style with Ukrainian touches (wonderful Olivier, traditional Galician Octopus, Jamon and cheese Croquettes, prawns and Langoustine is what we had) There is a small and accurate selection of wines (we had a bottle of Alvarinho that was very good! The atmosphere is well caterd by the owners who tend to the restaurant, a husband and wife and you can see true character. Highly recommend!

This was such a lucky find as I walking down the beautiful streets of Girona. Small place but so lively and welcoming inside. I ate the most delicious seafood all served by the incredible staff. Ordered the scallops, octopus casserole and cheesecake to top it off. Didn’t have room for dessert but couldn’t leave the place without trying one and the cheesecake was so yummy! I loved this restaurant and will return here no doubt.

Had a great evening at La Pulperia. It’s a lovely restaurant, very cosy with incredible service and hospitality. Feels like eating at relatives. The food is delicious, fresh and prepared to perfection. Would highly recommend the pulpo, scallops and mussels. All in all it was a lovely experience and we would come back anytime we’re back in Girona! 10/10. P.s. if you have space for a dessert, take the white and dark chocolate cakes!

Everything in these reviews is true. This place is top-notch Galician dishes and amazing seafood. The eclectic decor is fun, the staff consisted of the owner, and 2 ladies doing everything from waiting to cleaning to bartending. The owner Fran even was wearing a button down shirt covered in octopus! The food is amazing, the dishes were great portions for the price. We left full and content. This is a must eat if in Girona. If the service is a bit slow, just go out for a smoke like the locals! People are not in a rush here

If you’re looking for ultra high level seafood with an ingredient driven approach La Pulperia is a must go. Galician oysters that taste almost like uni, gamba blanca from Huelva which were totally insane. Also pulpo a la Gallega which was totally extraordinary and one of the best I ever had. Put the best ingredients possible on the plate and f*ck with it as little as possible is how I would describe the approach. Many places could learn a thing or two from this restaurant. All this in a fun environment with warm owners that clearly have a very high understanding of seafood. So happy we found it in our one day stay in Girona!
